Dog Daycare – TRY US FOR FREE – your first visit is our treat!
Underdog Kennels has the SAFEST Dog Daycare in Dallas! Your dog will enjoy a fun, yet structured, day in our Dog Daycare program under the watchful supervision of our trained staff. Most of the day will be spent playing with friends (with a couple of nap times and snacks included to keep everyone healthy and in a good mood).
We have over 18,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor Dog Daycare play space at Under Dog Kennels. Outside we have multiple Dog Daycare yards. One has artificial play turf, plenty of shade structures to block the Texas summer sun and includes wading pools on all warm days (over 80 degrees) so we also have a Splash Park for our water loving breeds! Our other outdoor play yard is an all-natural turf grass play area sodded with St. Augustine turf for the summer and seeded with Rye Grass seed for the winter so we have natural green grass all year round.
Our indoor play area is climate controlled and it’s where we play when it’s too hot, too cold or too rainy to play outside, but weather permitting, we prefer to play outside in the fresh air! We have jungle gym type play equipment for the more adventurous pups to climb and explore.
All guests must be a minimum of 4 months old to play in Dog Daycare. All guests over 6 months of age must be spayed or neutered (altered) to play in Dog Daycare (pregnancy and aggression due to hormones are issues which we guard against).
Our Dog Daycare Program in Uptown, Dallas, TX, is structured based on the latest Dog Behavioral Research which shows our dogs are much like small children toddler age or slightly older. Most dogs who are left in an open play group with other dogs all day long will become over-stimulated. This over-stimulation contributes to aggression and exhaustion. For this reason, our Dog Daycare is structured so each play group goes out and plays together for a play session in the morning and again in the afternoon with a restful nap time in the comfort and privacy of their own rooms in between their play sessions. This schedule compliments their natural circadian rhythms (body clocks) as dogs are intended to take multiple restful naps throughout the day. Our goal is not to exhaust your dog but to send them home calm, content and relaxed so you can still enjoy their company at the end of your busy workday.
We Temperament Test all guests who wish to play in Dog Daycare to ensure they are DOG FRIENDLY and then our guests are divided up into different play groups based on a combination of their: size, age, play style and temperament to ensure they will be in a play group where they’ll have fun but more importantly be very safe.
FIRST TIME GUESTS – Please make a 1st Timer Dog Daycare Meet & Greet reservation request. We conduct these Meet & Greets during any non-holiday week on Mondays thru Fridays (we are usually too busy the week of major national holidays for any Meet & Greet visits).
Plan on your furry family member spending the entire day with us. Please drop off between 7:00 am & 8:00 am and pick up between 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm.
If you would like your dog to play in our Dog Daycare while they board with us, we will conduct a “Dog Friendly” Temperament Test . If they pass, they’ll spend the day playing and making new friends. If we determine they are not “dog friendly” or are just not a good fit for our open playgroups, they will spend the day in our VIP group going on walks with members of our staff (they will receive plenty of ear scratches, cuddles and tummy rubs).
Underdog Kennels ALWAYS has multiple Dog Daycare Attendants overseeing each play group at all times. The health and safety of our guests is our primary concern!
Special VIP Dog Daycare Programs are available for older dogs who like a slower pace or shy dogs who prefer human playmates to four legged ones. These guests get more ear scratches and tummy rubs!
We also offer Private Playtime where your pup can play Fetch, Tug, receive a relaxing Massage, Tummy Rubs and or Story Time. This is available for purchase at $15 per 15 minutes.
